A painted polystyrene logo. 1000mm high, 150mm thick. Artwork was sent to us as a vector eps file. The logo was cut from 50mm thick polystyrene and 100mm thick polystyrene. each layer was glued together and then a thin coating of resin was applied, it was then sanded and painted in the company corporate colours matched to their pantone numbers. we used Dulux vinyl matt emulsion to paint the logo with. The resin was applied in a 1mm thin layer to fill in the uneven finish of the polystyrene so when it was sanded a smoother finish would result. It was a good alternative way to get a smooth finish on the face of large letters and logos instead of card facing or foamex facing. A slight texture was still visible mostly the result of the paint that was applied by using a roller. the finish on the face looked similar to a painted plaster. We also coated the sides in resin, though it was not necessary because the cutting process of the polystyrene provided a smooth.

One vector logo was supplied in a PDF file which we imported and then resized and cut a number of times for the production of multiple logos.
The polystyrene logos were then painted in two layers of vinyl matt emulsion. We recommend using Dulux paints because of their consistent quality of colour and opacity. Dulux has consistently been able to match Pantone colours to their vinyl matt emulsion paints by custom mixing the colours to our needs.

XPS Foam Letters
XPS foam letters painted orange.
XPS foam letters are often used for exhibition header panels due to several reasons. Firstly, XPS foam is lightweight, making it easy to handle and install on panels. This feature is particularly beneficial for exhibitions where quick setup and takedown are required. Additionally, XPS foam letters can be easily cut and shaped into various sizes and fonts, allowing for customization and creating eye-catching designs.
Furthermore, XPS foam letters have a smooth and uniform surface, which provides a clean and professional look to exhibition headers. They can be easily painted in different colors, enhancing visual appeal and ensuring that the headers align with the overall branding and theme of the exhibition.
Another advantage of XPS foam is its durability. It is resistant to moisture and does not warp or decay easily, making it suitable for long-term use in exhibition environments. This ensures that the headers maintain their appearance throughout the duration of the exhibition, even in varying weather conditions.
Lastly, XPS foam letters are cost-effective compared to other materials commonly used for exhibition headers, such as wood or metal. This affordability factor makes them a popular choice for exhibition organizers who need to work within budget constraints while still achieving a professional and impactful visual display.
In summary, the lightweight nature, versatility in customization, smooth surface, durability, and cost-effectiveness of XPS foam letters make them an ideal choice for exhibition header panels.
